Dyneema is an UHMwPE (Ultra High Molecular weight Polyethylene) fibre developed by DSM in the Netherlands little over 20 years ago. An ingredient material in many of our ropes, Dyneema is light weight and renowned as "The World's Strongest FibreTM". So what makes Dyneema so special
At Sailing Chandlery (previously Dinghy Rope) we have pure 12 strand dyneema rope available, along with dyneema core rope which has harder wearing covers. We also have soft covers on larger ropes too.
You are able to find our products in industries such as heavy lifting, on- & offshore wind, FOWT, oil & gas, maritime, subsea, defence, winch, vehicle recovery 4x4, aquaculture & fishing and a few more.At Dynamica Ropes, we manufacture our rope solutions with HMPE/Dyneema in order to offer you the lightest, strongest and most reliable solution possible.
SK75 and SK78 outperform all the other HMPE fibres in measured strength ensuring a stable performance in your rope. Moreover, the creep lifetime under equal load andtemperature is much longer. SK78 has lower creep than SK75, making it the preferred choice for static applications.
Do not make knots! Introducing knots to rope will cause 60 % loss in strength and you will loose the ropes high strenght abillity. Instead, opt for splices. When executed by trained and authorised riggers you will only lose about 10 % of the initial strength.
This water rescue rope has a blended Dyneema fiber and polypropylene core. With a multifilament polypropylene cover, this rope floats and has near zero water retention. It is extremely strong, light weight, and has a no-stretch braid that...
Pelican Rope is a leading manufacturer and distributor of ropes in Santa Ana, California. For over 40 years, Pelican Rope has provided customers with innovative products and reliable service. Pelican Rope is known for pushing the industry in innovation, with signature ropes, such as the Matador, the Tree Viper, the Ape, and the Arborist. It specializes in ropes for tree climbing, rescue work, boating, industrial applications, and marining.
Pelican Rope is proud to offer selections of rope made with Dyneema Fibers. Dyneema is the strongest material in the world - 15 times stronger than steel on weight per weight ratio. This makes Dyneema Line the best choice for many high demand applications. These fibers are perfect for rescue applications, winch lines, tow lines, cable pulling, rigging lines, stringing lines, lifting lines, and marine lines.
This polyethylene material boasts incredibly high tensile strength - Compared to polyester rope, Dyneema is up to 5 times stronger. That's pretty strong! Dyneema also floats well and has strong UV resistance.
When spliced, this type of rope material has a significantly higher breaking load than if it is knotted. Knotting Dyneema fibre decreases its breaking load by about 50%, therefore requiring it to be larger dimensioned.
Dyneema, a modern material that makes sailing on regattas and races noticeably easier due to massive weight reductions! It's no surprise to see Dyneema used on regatta yachts as trimlines, reef lines and control lines. In terms of splice work Dyneema is very easy to work with, making rigging and splicing easier. With high tensile strength and the lowest stretch of all synthetic fibres, this material is a must-have for all sailors looking for high performance rope.
The only significant disadvantage is the rate at which the fibres in the rope stretch under constant load. This is known as "creep". A further disadvantage is that it is difficult to make a good knot with Dyneema.
You want to buy quality Dyneema rope In our online shop you will find exactly the right kind of professional rope that is perfect for you and your boat. Not sure what type of rope you need Read our detailed yacht rope guide to help you decide and find what you need.
Light weight: Winch ropes made with Dyneema match steel wire for strength but offer significant improvements in terms of weight and ease of handling. Unaffected by Water: An obvious benefit is the lack of corrosion that a winch rope made with Dyneema exhibits. In addition, for offshore winching, the rope remains buoyancy neutal meaning that the winch only needs to lift the load, not the rope.

Premiumropes offers a wide range of ropes made of Dyneema fibres. Dyneema is also known with its chemical name HMPE (High Modulus Polyethylene). Dyneema has revolutionised ropes for sailing. Halyards, sheets and control ropes can be made quite thinner compared to polyester only ropes. Also these ropes are very easy to splice and taper. Singlebraid ropes of Dyneema fibres can often replace wire rope and stainless steel products. For example with soft shackles and steel leads. Dyneema sheets and halyards were first only used by regatta sailors, but have quickly became popular with performance sailors too. In order to protect ropes at specific places from chafing, we also sell separate Dyneema covers (D-Cover). Premiumropes can splice, taper and custom make these ropes for your sailboat and purpose.

Dyneema Rope is extremely tear-resistant and low stretch rope. Good resistance to abrasion, high UV light resistance, very long durability, low weight, flexibility and splice ability make this kind of rope irreplaceable in many different technical applications. Dyneema Rope is an ideal replacement for stainless steel wire or steel rope and is the best choice for all applications with extreme loads.
Wherever possible, use splices constructed to safe specifications. A proper splice on a rope can maintain 80% to 100% of the new rope average break strength. Trained personnel should construct all splices. If knots are used on a rope, be aware that they can reduce the rope's strength by up to 50%. If knots are required, be sure to select the proper knot for the job.
All rope has a rating referred to as a "tensile strength" or "average break strength." This number is the amount of weight that the rope should be able to hold in ideal conditions, specifically, a new rope, with no knots or splices, at room temperature. These break strength numbers are based on actual destructive break testing by the manufacturer or a certified third-party testing facility. Ropes are tested over many cycles and the average break strength is determined and specified for the product. We test our ropes personally, and all our splicers have their work tested on an ongoing basis using a certified test bed facility. This is to ensure that their splicing work is perfect, and that their splicing technique and skills are 100% within acceptable splicing guidelines set by the rope industry. Even the best splices and best rope can break if overloaded or used improperly. Make sure you thoroughly understand what you are doing with a rope. Get the right rope for the right job.
