CandyBar can create terrain, characters, monsters, and items. It has a built-in color-picker so the character colors and the terrain are easy to pick. CandyBar can also make custom symbols and animated sprites.

The UI is very simple. The toolbar has eight icons: a gear, a wrench, a paintbrush, a canvas, a scissors, a rainbow, a timeline and a number pad.
